What we do

Come kick up your heels and celebrate with us! Your participation at OSA events helps us to:

  • expand OSA programs in all Nyack district elementary schools;

  • develop lesson plans, partner with teachers and the school district, and integrate OSA learning into the core curriculum;

  • grow OSA’s contribution to the Nyack Center’s After School Program; and

  • build our capacity to manage and grow our programs.

A warm thank you to everyone who has helped to make our community outreach events a success, including our Friendsgiving Feast, Spring Noodlefest, music with Band of the Land, and other events.

At these wonderful community gatherings, kids enjoyed nature mandala drawing, followed the path of waterdrops to the watershed, and discovered stream critters (the amazing earthlings we never see!). We tested the waters, peered into microscopes, and cored a tree to learn how scientists have studied the climate for the past 1,000 years! There were bee hives to explore and tree lore and legends. We studied the rocks of Rockland, made art, listened to music and danced, and had lots of fun! Below are some photos from these memorable days.

Won't you please donate to Soar? Help support amazing projects like these, and provide "lift-off" for this new community program. Please visit the Nyack Center Website to make a donation.
